Very true, however I think it is important to say that a lot of git's features 
are available when using git-svn, i.e. making it the personal choice of each 
individual developer whether they want to interact with the SVN repository 
through SVN tools or git tools.

IMHO this reasoning only has weight when the sysadmin team would like to shut 
down SVN related infrastructure in order to reduce their maintenance burden.
