I don't need to mark this subject offtopic, do I? ;-)

As a newborn gnomer (CVS write access since today), I can't resist to \
comment.
I won't go back to coding in C, but since some people are still entering \
active Gnome/Gtk development (my humble self), gnome's development won't \
cease - just because ONE person annoys all gnomes by making his leave a \
loud one. As long as Havoc and Tero won't quit, there will be an actively \
maintained C++ environment for Gtk/Gnome. And stopping Gtk before 1.2 is \
out would be menace.
Qt has it's technical benefits since it's pure C++, Gtk-- has it's benefits \
since it doesn't require additional prepropressors. At our (non software \
selling!!!) company we still develop with Gtk--, and TT's license fee was \
never a real option (as long as there are alternatives). This is why I was \
looking at your coding progress with pleasure and respect.
And since on freshmeat there are still announcements of new Widget sets I \
never heard before (really, I looked twice), I won't believe a death could \
come so quickly to an Open Source Project. Though Gnome's momentum might \
decrease a bit. And Gnome's C++ has ever been an ugly duck (We still \
believe it to become a swan).
Shortly: Gnome won't die - though I initially feared a landslide towards \
KDE/Qt. And some people are against all odds developing C++ with it.
I wish QPL Harmony no ill, I just prefer a _L_GPL toolkit.
Christof (still fan of the Harmony project)
