I seem to remember we discussed a stable branch or rather stable tag, where to 
copy the latest version. But I can't find one. Can someone enlight me?

Also I'd like your input on how you handle maintenance releases (that is 3.0.x 
e.g) Current KDE procedure is to do those from a branch, but do we have such 
a branch that translators can work from?
