Anyone on this list wants to help with doing a story for enterprise.kde.org? We run www.laterooms.com in Manchester, UK which necessitates a 30-agent call-centre. We have PXE-netbooting diskless machines running KDE 3.2.2 over NFS-mount, with NFS homedirs and NIS logins. The workload is relatively low, with only a web browser and email client (at present it's Evolution... but I'd like to move to Kontact/KMail) . We would use KSpread, but it does not support .XLS writing so we must use OpenOffice.org instead. Switching to a Linux desktop has meant our support costs have fallen through the floor, and each agent can be more productive by not having to worry about spyware/malware/viruses/security threats/worms etc. :) KDE has provided an interface that is much more familiar to Windows users than GNOME, and I have got mainly good feedback from the users. I also prefer the KDE way of configuration (flat text files compared with multiple XML files in a directory structure) Thank you!
