We don't to any painting outside of paintEvents (and functions called
therein). Ok, your ideas sound reasonable. How much is the kde4 porting
effort goign to rely on the Q3 compatibility classes? I've been assuming
those are just a stopgap solution to give us a compilable base from which the
*real* porting can begin. Will the "final" port make use of the Q3* classes?
