Ok, I got no positiv response about KMath, so I think it is dead for the
moment. In that case I think the best would be to finish KBruch and add it
to KDE 3.2. Later, if someone likes to continue the work on KMath, we could
readd KBruch to KMath.

So I took the KBruch code from the edupart in kdenonbeta/kmath and made a
standalone app. Well, at the moment it doesn't do really much, just the GUI
is there but no possibility to test fractions...

I've uploaded the sources to:

http://www.hpfsc.de/download/kbruch-0.21.tar.bz2 (~ 400 KB)

First you have to extract it and change into the root dir of the archiv.
Here you have to do:

make -f Makefile.cvs
sh configure
cd kbruch/
make
su
make install
exit

You will notice that it is a CVS structure. And you will notice that the
admin directory for KDE 3.0 is used instead of KDE 3.1 admin. The problem is
that I wasn't able to update my local maschine to KDE 3.1 yet, because of a
very slow internet connection. So if someone adds KBruch to kdeedu CVS and
"port" it to KDE 3.1, this would be great. I will continue there the work in
about 5 weeks, because I'm going to holiday in some days. After I return I
will update my KDE to 3.1 and I will finish work on KBruch.

Now some words what couldn't be seen yet. Well, most of the work is just
GUI, the functionality for checking and generating task was already done:

- All tasks can be configured by number of fractions, possible operations
(+, -, /, *) and size of main denominator. Klas Kalass suggested some time
ago to add combo boxes for these settings to the toolbar. I'm going to do
so but I have to figure out how to do this with the xml ui file. If
someone knows a good description about KDE XML UI, please mail me.
- I have to reorder the handbook. Well, the original handbook isn't included
into the archiv, but I've a version on my local maschine.
- I'm not really happy with the "File" menu, because the app isn't handling
any files. But I think a "New" (task) and "Quit" action is needed. Maybe you
have a better idea how to do it.
