OK, after writing that I got uncomfortable making such a generalization, so 
I resarched it a bit more.  I found it in some dictionaries, but not 
others.  So my statement above was false in part.

It's still a questionable word that's not necessarly going to carry any 
meaning to the widest audience.  "Education" is the clearer word with the 
wider usage.
