I must admit that my system is inorthodox as libc6 is newer than it 
should on a sarge debian. Otherwise I would have filed a bug report.

Yes, the crash also appears when I just start kig (no parameters).
There is no assertions, but the debuggin output looks like a libc6 
problem. (libc6 2.3.5-6)

I think this is a local problem, not worth your time to attend to.
