Uhm, perhaps you miss the file association. Try opening the "Configure Konqueror"
dialog and then "File associations".
Under "applications" there should be an entry for x-kig with the
following informations:

Filename patterns:  *.kig and *.kigz
Description: kig figure
Application Preference Order: Kig

--------------------------------------------------
otherwise just try downloading the file and opening it
directly with "kig <filename>.kig"
