Let me comment a little bit on this issue. I tried out both kgeo and kig rather extensively. Going straight to the point: kgeo is *very* nice, as first impression, but it lacks at least a couple of fundamental things, most notably the possibility of intersecting circles (with lines or circles). This makes it impossible to even simulate "ruler and compass" constructions. I added those features myself (and they work fine), but I got only one answer from the author concerning the official inclusion in kgeo. This happened last june, but it seems the situation did not change up to now (I don't blame the author, surely there are good reasons for his long response time, kgeo is a gift afterall, and a beautiful one) On the contrary the same patches where considered by the author of kig, translated for kig and included, so they are now part of it. Perhaps I should say that I miss a little bit the look-and-feel of kgeo, but concerning the features I am confident that kig offers a lot more right now, (and probably yet more in the future). Is it time to give 'kig' more visibility?
