This Proposal Thread is Off-Track at the Moment!

First and foremost, there needs to be an infrustructure for building
tutorials. The people can take different approaches at building content for
them and let the best man win. Maybe different approaches are better for
different people...

Here's my suggestion for the tutorial program:

NAME: KTeacher 0.1

PURPOSE: To build and present hypermedia-based tutorials on the use of
computer software.

DESCRIPTION:

KTeacher should toggle between "Build" and "Tutor" modes. It should be based
on a KLesson componant that includes a tutorial script with the learning
sequence. Objects within this sequence can include KDE document types and
KQuiz componants. The script will also enable looping and redirection based
on KQuiz results.

KQuiz -- This componant should enable a series of questions and record
whether or no the answers are correct:
  - MultipleChoice questions, where one of many is correct. Each option can
be marked to be randomized or held stationary.
  - MultipleSelect questions, where more than one must be checked in order
to be correct. Each option can be marked to be randomized or held stationary.
  - ShortAnswer questions, where the user has to type in the answer. That
answer is checked against a regular expression to determine correctness.
  - ScaledAnswer questions, where the user must select on a scale of x to y.
The value is recorded, and correctness must be determined by the script.

Now, in order to teach the user of computer software and programming, we must
also have a KScreenRecorder utility that records screenshots from a specified
window and its child windows, plus mouse movement and simultaneous voice
recording from the microphone. This will take a little research but doesn't
sound too technically difficult. The hard part might be converting to a
movie format.
