The ioslave would do the actual finding work, and the kpart would handle the gui aspect, gathering the options and arguments then passing them along to the ioslave. One big advantage of that would be that other parts of kde or other apps could very easily use the funtionality of kfind (the ioslave) without having to display the dialog. I'm not sure if this would be a better idea than just putting kfind in kdelibs like you said, but it just seems more nifty.
