Hi,

I too have the problem with the deleted config files with the
RPM packages of KDE 2.2final for SuSE i386 7.2.

Here ~/.kde2/share/config and all files inside will get
deleted when I log out. When I log in again, files will be
created again, but with problematic default values (e.g.
encoding).

Unfortunately I can't confirm that it has something to
do with ~/.kde (or some directory above) being a symlink.
This is not the case here.

Any ideas?
