I agree with you, but I'm not so familiar with Qt programming that I can
say why the author does this.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that no windowmanager is
running at this time which can do the focus management.

I tried it anyway. I replaced every occurence of "FDialog" with "QDialog"
without any effect.

Did you try the chooser? Could you reproduce the bug?
Or were you just having a look at the source code?
