Hi,

sorry if you recieve this mail twice, but because of the server
troubles I don't know if you got it.

I tried to compile kdelibs from cvs
tag=KDE_2_2_RELEASE and I get the following errors:

1) configure: When using openssl 0.9.5a configure issues a
warning:
"You're missing openSSL, or your version is too old (before
0.9.5a)."
It should read "before 0.9.6x", otherwise It's misleading since
the problem is that you need version > 0.9..5a installed.

2) libxml2: configure warns:
"You're missing libxml2 2.3.13 or later.
.....
You can find a copy of libxml2 in the kdesupport module."

Since the version from kdesupport is also too old, you need to
install a new version, but if you have previously installed
libxml2 from kdesupport, you have to remove it manually from your
existing kde installation to make configure accept the newly
installed version.

3) make fails compiling kssl:

to `(...)'

System: Kernel 2.4.7, RH 7.0, egcs-1.1.2.

Do I need to upgrade gcc?

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA,
Joerg
