Even then lots of files show the wrong date btw. For the few patches I wrote 
in the past months I encountered lots of files with an incorrect copyright 
date. That is, they showed a year < 2001, but were modified in 2001. If I 
actually committed the files I was looking in I mostly changed the year as 
well, but I left many files untouched because I didn't touch the code in 
those files.

Maybe it's indeed an idea if someone goes through the code and updates all 
files with a modification date >= 1 Jan 2001?
