Ah, hopefully it now respects the color setting as well. I asked for some 
feedback with regard to dark color schemes, but I didn't get any 
(http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-devel&m=99237377031896&w=2). One of the problems 
was with regard to kicker (almost) always using black to display taskbar text.
