AtheOS copied this from BeOS.  Believe me, it's a great thing since a.
processing
will be automatically spread among multiple processors and b. designing
an app
with autonomous windows which communicate via asynchronous messages is a
far
nicer than under the 'one gui, one message thread' system.

The UI is thread safe too, so you can have multiple threads which access
the
same widget - lock it, access it, unlock it.  Such a shame Qt/KDE can't
offer
this 8^(
