Subject:    How to cope with autoconf in practice?

How do you *use* the KDE build system while developing in kdenonbeta? It 
seems to me that any change to the build structure (e.g. making a class 
moc-able) requires issuing configure from the top level - rebuilding 
*every* Makefile!  

This can't be the best way to do it, so how should it work?
