I can imagine there's a misunderstanding, I'm the author of kde-build (the 
script in kdesdk which might be guilty for Jono's problems), John seems to be 
using kde-cvsbuild, a script by Andreas Hochsteger 
(http://kde-cvsbuild.sourceforge.net).
