Hi!
I cannot confirm. Tron is very unstable here. I just updated from the current
HEAD and tried again. It behaves differently than before but I think it's due to
another pattern of memory fragmentation (I suspect that there is a buffer overflow
in it which overwrites another data so the crash is very undeterministic and the
backtrace (if any) is unrelated to Tron at all). I already opened the bug #25867
for that.
Today I tried again to add many files at once using mouse multiselect.
As a difference to my previous experiences, it worked. However, I was then unable
to save the playlist back ("operation has failed" in Czech so I don't have exact
string in english) and after hiding the playlist and enabling it again, it crashed
(the player engine was continuing to play, but all the gui was frozen and after
pressing the exit button it segfaulted). I was trying to add about 80 files at once
with relatively long names (You know these names of Napster downloaded files).
Maybe when adding 2-3 files with 8.3 names it works :-)
Could somebody point me where the buffer for the entered file names is allocated ?
I cannot find it - I'm definitely not good at all theses classes which Tron uses).
Could it be possible that it is too small and it overflows ?
                                            With regards, Pavel Troller
