rob? are you still working on this stuff? if not, i would take care of
- change acinclude.m4.in: define socklen_t (if missing), not ksize_t;
  compatibility '#define ksize_t socklen_t' for external programs
- change all remaining occurences of ksize_t to socklen_t
- change all remaining public interfaces to use ksocklen_t
