Since kdesud repeatedly spits out errors about not being implemented properly on my platform (Tru64 -- the file where this error is generated is secure.cpp) and I don't need the kdesu functionality, I've just killed kdesud!! So there's no kdesud currently running here at all. It sounds as if this might be the reason! I'll turn it on on Monday when I get back to work and I'll let you know if this was the reason for the problems.
