KWordPad. // for people who don't use Windows: MS substitutted MS Write some time ago with Wordpad. MS's WordPad even can save/open MS Word format, but in general it is basic text editor, which can be used in several modes. I don't want to say that we should copy Microsoft but words Write, Word, Wordpad and Notepad are not patented by Microsoft.
