No, let me state as someone debugging both GIFs for a couple of hours, that
this is not the same problem :)

The problem with Richard's GIF (the "yellow running man" as I dubbed it after
an hour in khexedit :) will be fixed in Qt after 2.2.4 as it requires larger
changes in the GIF reading code (just think it's very special). We know very
well what goes wrong, but it's just no two liner to fix it. When you watch 
the animation very closely only the colormap changes for the second to fourth
frame and this problem is very unusual and can wait.

The problem with Pavel's GIF goes deeper and I still have no clue what happens
as I can send you a GIF that looks exactly the same and works with konqueror.
It's very strange.
