Monday is over, now begins the feature freeze for 2.1 beta 2 and 2.1 final
(there will be no opening in between, there are enough bugs to fix already :)
and the message freeze, until 2.1 final as well.

The affected modules are those listed on 
http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-2.1-release-plan.html

OH ! The website hasn't updated since I updated the schedule long ago !
Who's in charge for developer.kde.org ? Please check the updating, it's broken!

I'm attaching the release schedule, then, since the website doesn't want it.

Just to reiterate : the freeze is now, the week to come is for bugfixing only
(and translation/docu, of course), and the beta is next Monday.

KDE 2.1 Release Plan</h1></center>
<font size=+2>T</font>he following is the outline for our KDE 2.1 release
schedule.<br>
The 2.1 release, unlike the 2.0.1 release, will come with new functionality
and improvements in many areas of KDE.
<p>
All dates given here are subject to revision, but we will try out best to
stick to them if possible.

<h2>KDE 2.1 Beta 1</h2>

<h3><b>Thursday 07/12</b></h3>
The HEAD branch is frozen : no new features, bugfixes
commits only, no commit that modifies an application's behaviour
(to avoid changes in the documentation).

<h3><b>Wednesday 13/12</b></h3>
Tarballs are made out of the HEAD of CVS, for KDE 2.1 Beta 1 <br>
They are made public immediately, and given to packagers for creation
of binary packages.

<h3><b>Monday 18/12</b></h3>
Announce KDE 2.1 Beta 1.

<h3><b>Monday 15/01/2001</b></h3>
The HEAD branch is frozen again : no new features, bugfixes
commits only, no commit that modifies an application's behaviour,
and <b>message freeze</b>.

<h3><b>Monday 22/01</b></h3>
The HEAD branch of CVS is tagged KDE_2_1_BETA2, and tarballs are made.
They are made public immediately, and given to packagers for creation
of binary packages.

<h3><b>Friday 26/01</b></h3>
The binary packages are uploaded to ftp.kde.org to give some time for the mirrors
to get them.

Announce KDE 2.1 Beta 2

The HEAD branch remains frozen since Friday 12/01. Only bugfixing,
there is enough of that to do :)

Last day for translations, documentation, icons and critical bugfixes
commits.

<h3><b>Tuesday 13/02</b></h3>
The HEAD branch of CVS is tagged KDE_2_1_RELEASE, and tarballs are released
to the packagers.

<p>The rest of the week is spent testing the tarballs, packaging and writing the
announcement and changelog.

<h3><b>Friday 16/02</b></h3>
The source and binary packages are uploaded to ftp.kde.org to give some time 
for the mirrors to get them.

Announce KDE 2.1.

<p>This is still to be determined. <code>kdelibs</code> and <code>kdebase</code>
will of course be part of it, but other packages will be released as well depending
on their status. The current list of packages that will be in the 2.1 release is:
