What can I do to debug this any > further? > Any ideas? strace, gdb, net sniffing, I would try what you want :-) strace-ing the io-slave to see what it tries to do might be of help. That's always a bit tricky so you might need to add a sleep(5000) in the main of the slave. It's always a bit of a pain to get hold of the right slave.
