I've tried this:
kcmshell kthememgr >&out.log
and as soon as I click on the "Default" theme, I get this on the console
window:
tar: Ready for volume 2
tar: Type "go" when ready to proceed (or "q" to abort):
I need to type "q" then to continue.
You use apparently some non-standard TAR options for unpacking
the themes. Note that the "-z" option for automatic uncompressing
is only supported by GNU Tar. Other systems need "gzip -dc x.tar.gz | tar
xf -"
This is the out.log:
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: [offset 40k+0]: Continuing
tar: Aborted
KDE detected X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
Major opcode: 42
WARNING: Failed to load preview image /home/tomloc/.kde/share/apps/kthememgr/Work/Eclipse/
tar: Aborted
My suggestion is to either use the gzip, tar pipe or to call tar
explicitly with "gtar" for Gnu-TAR and not with "tar" which usually
runs the system-tar which lacks this option.
Thanks // Tom
