From kde-devel Tue Dec 19 11:05:04 2000 From: Leon Widdershoven Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2000 11:05:04 +0000 To: kde-devel Subject: Re: Bug#17306: KDE 2.0 is a bug itself ... X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-devel&m=97722394320406 I think you hit the jackpot there. KDE is seen as the core libraries, the desktop environment and all it's applications. For me, the desktop is stable. I never have problems with kicker, the background and such (yes, I compiled it myself:). However, not all of the apps are already up to 100% stability; konqueror is not perfect yet, kmail does not have all the features I want, kaiman does not read my beautiful xmms skins. All these application 'errors' (don't flame; I quoted it!) reflect on the image of KDE in total. Which is a shame, since it's quite stable. At least my desktop stays alive, as does my system:) Mybe it would be a good idea to separate the core libs and base package from the rest; in a PR point-of-view. Soemthing like: KDE 2.0 is out! and there are also applications ported to use it's thrilling features!
