Yes, I know what he means! He means I'm not alone in the world having those 
artifacts using ListViews! Yes, yes, yes!

I bugged qt-bugs about this a long time ago but nobody was able to reproduce 
it: it happens when you click on the text entry in a QListView, but not if 
you click on the little +/- fields. The mouse cursor shows an artifact which 
looks quite similar to a bar code. It turns normal again when you move it 
somewhere where the cursor shape changes, i.e. over a slider or something.
I'd say it's an X problem, but:
- It only happens with the Qt ListViews
- I had this before XFree 4.0 and with 4.0 it still happens
- I do NOT have any exotic hardware at all: Matrox Mystique II

Anyhow: not something to be fixed in KDE.
