Hmm, on what criteria are you filtering?
I first did it with To-or-CC contains listname, now I found out about 
X-Mailing-List and even get crosspostings right :)
But now for the actual answer: I've been doing this for months and have never 
had problems with highlighting. I retrieve mails from my ISP via fetchmail, 
fetchmail passes them on to sendmail and procmail delivers to 
/var/spool/mail/malte which KMail accesses as local mailbox account.
