By default, no.
Forcing the -fno-exceptions, yes. I followed the instruction and the lib is
2MB smaller. nothing broken so far;)
RH 6.2 stock on AMD K62 400, CVS from yesterday,
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
