Subject: Bug? kminipagerapplet KConfig problem(s)

Hello
Problem:
kminipagerapplet reads/assigns a default value for the Display Desktops as
popup menu. At present a cvs clean install KDE2 doesn't create any rc files
for at least kminipagerapplet and when you change a value it is saved to this
same non-existant file w/o any error message or other notification that the
file doesn't exist.
Therefore your changes/preferences are never saved.
Problem 2: Shouldn't the user be alerted when saving to a non existant file?
My workaround was to create a kminipagerappletrc file in
$KDEHOME/share/config that consists of
[minipager]
Mode=<YOUR_PREFERENCE | Preview (default) >
Is this the responsibility of the applet or kicker to create rc files for
configuration?
Is this a problem with my configuration or is it a "global" problem.
