From kde-devel Fri Sep 08 21:30:27 2000 From: Nels Tomlinson Date: Fri, 08 Sep 2000 21:30:27 +0000 To: kde-devel Subject: Bug#10220: KFM hangs up for several minutes... X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-devel&m=96844870512282 When I left-click on the /mnt directory in particular, and sometimes others, the entire desktop freezes up. The icons no longer work, nothing in ANY of the several instances of KFM works, nothing gets redrawn, and so on. After 3 to 5 minutes, any of the icons which I clicked on produce the desired results, the /mnt directory is displayed, and so on. Restarting the xserver doesn't seem to help. Oddly, this doesn't affect any of the other things: while KFM is still pondering the meaning of /mnt, I can type ls /mnt in an xterm and get an immediate response. Netscape still runs, and so on, but anything to do with kfm or the kpanel or the icons on the desktop is hung for quite a while. This is repeatable; left-click-on-/mnt does it every time, for about the same length of time. I just tried it again, for the Nth time, and it's still happening. This is KDE1.12, on Mandrake 7.1, kernel 2.2.15-4mdk with the Rieser file system installed (but not using Rieser on any of the things mounted under /mnt). I'm not sure what else to tell you. If you can think of any more information which would be useful, try to email me soon, before I take this new mess off this machine.
