I've now had a chance to try running KDE2 on a pure 8-bit Sparc with=20
Solaris and on a Linux box running XF86 at 8bpp. And this may clear up=20
where a couple of the issues come from.

1) Background colours.
These are scrambled on both systems. It looks as if blue shows as red=20
and red as blue. In the control centre, the preview shows wrong (same=20
as the real background) while the colour of the menu button is right.

2) White text in HTML
This is a specifically Solaris problem. Any HTML page without an=20
explicit text colour is rendered with white rather than black text.=20
Explicitly set text colours are correctly rendered.
