On sparc-sun-solaris2.6 we're getting the following build failure:

  extern_md5.h:13: syntax error before `['
  extern_md5.h:14: syntax error before `['
  extern_md5.h:34: `u_int32_t' was not declared in this scope
  extern_md5.h:34: parse error before `['

This is because u_int32_t does not exist on this platform; I could not
find it in any include file.

Fix: This should be autoconf-ed.
