I had the same. The reason was that I had Mesa 3.0 and GLU headers in 
/usr/include/GL and Mesa 3.3 but no GLU headers in /usr/X11R6/include/GL
I removed all GL stuff in /usr/X11R6/{include,lib}/GL and updated the one in 
/usr to 3.3

It's a #define APIENTRY that vanished between 3.0 and 3.3 and is used in glu.h
