kded does not appear in a ps listing however I try to run kded I get

<pinky:bin 281>./kded
KDE Daemon (kded) already running.
<pinky:bin 282>


The menus are definately not being updated automagically (I'm sure they
used to in some previous KDE2 builds).

I'm using the snapshots from 20000722
