	Cool! :)

Not really sure what you mean by commercial. It's Mike Pilone, Greg Stern,
and myself. We put it under the "company" name of split helix, but right now
that's only a domain name. So, we're not calling it Mike, Dan, and Greg's
Developer Network, but that's about it...

As of now it's a donation. I think all three of us would love to be able to
pay for quality articles, but since the service is free, this would become a
costly venture.

Yes. Here's our unofficial plan: If KDN really takes off, we're going to
need to move it off the machine it's on now. Our worst fear right now is
that this announcement hits Slashdot. People won't be getting mail for a
week. :) Anyway, we may end up moving it, but other than that KDN will
remain free. What we would like to do is to write a non-web front end, burn
some CDs and sell those for a small amount of money. Similiar to MSDN. Have
quarterly, monthly, whatever updates. This would give us a venue for paying
for articles, buying the machine we'd need to run this if it takes off, etc.
But anyway, the moral of the story is yes, the online KDN will remain free.

> - Where will the KDN be going in the future? What features/services?

Phew.. we just go this one up. :) We don't have an official plan yet, we
just wanted to get this working. But, some of the things we'd like to
accomplish (in no particular order):

o Get the word out to other groups, specifically starting with gnome since
we already have the theme code for that. Then, expand to anyone else that
wants a develop's network, java.shdn.org, etc.
o Write the non-web front end.
o Burn some CDs and see how that whole subscription approach goes.
	o Article rating (by readers)
o Better submission system (email, DTD, etc)
o Regular (monthly, weekly, whatever) columns
	o .... and who knows...

That's about all I have, Mike & Greg may have more ideas. Anyway, hope that
clears things up. -- Dan
