well, you forgot to link the moc file. 


In general: don't make the *item classes inherit QObject, because _if_ it
would make send then Troll tech _would_ have done that already. 

QObject has FAR too much overhead to be used for such a class. 

use virtual functions or make your QListView inherited classes emit the
signals.
