I use kde-at-addon from 29052000 for the tests:

"./libtool --version"
  ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4a (1.641.2.37 2000/05/26 05:50:51)

"grep 'arg.*pic_object' ./libtool"
            arg="$pic_object"
              arg="$non_pic_object"

And the libtool ("kde-qt-addon buildir"/libtool) is the newest version,
generated from an new configure run? I only ask, because just that error
should have been fixed. As a temporary work-around you can use
--disable-closure as configure switch. But nevertheless it would be
necessary to know why libtool is misbehaving.

What is the output of "./libtool --version" (given in the builddir)?
And what says "grep 'arg.*pic_object' ./libtool"?

Ciao,
Michael.
