Another thought... Have the medical bag there, but when there is an event 
you might want to notice (NS sucking up too much cpu/mem) display a 
little exclamation point or something near the bag to alert the user.

Just make sure that this little application stays little!  There was once 
a program similar for windows which I used many years ago.. that took 
more resources than the applications I was running!
