Hi,

Now there´s a set of classes for floatable widgets available for KDE2
applications!
Have a look in kdelibs/kdeui/kdockwidget.h/cpp and
kdelibs/kdeui/kdocktabctl.h/cpp

The most important classes are 
  KDockWidget      - a floatable widget that has usually got an embedded
widget
and 
  KDockMainWindow  - a special KTMainWindow that provides dockability.
