Complete nonsense. Why wouldn't you be able to launch another app
in parallel, or to move icons on the desktop, or display the
desktop's RMB... ?

Repeat after me : this is not Windows.
If you start an app, you can still do a lot of other things.
But YES, getting visual feedback (e.g. in kicker) while the app is
loaded would be nice, as well as possible error messages.

Now let's stop talking about vapourware and let's hack something!
What was the problem with Rik's solution ?
