Actually, I launched it involuntarily...

The Makefile.ams are even shorter than before, thanks
to even more autoconf/automake/am_edit magic.

Any editor is capable of writing them (well, it doesn't do it by itself :-)
so you don't even need to switch (although... NEdit... :-).
