From kde-devel Fri Feb 04 18:51:39 2000 From: David Sweet Date: Fri, 04 Feb 2000 18:51:39 +0000 To: kde-devel Subject: KHelpcenter idea X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-devel&m=94969094720870 Since khelpcenter supports cgi scripting and DCOP could potentially be accessed from a script it seems that a system could be made so that KDE help pages could access dialog boxes in applications. For example, a help page might say ".... and to change this setting, open the properties dialog and click on..." where "properties dialog" is a link that, when clicked, opens the dialog (if the application is running). A generic command-line DCOP-caller could make this all work: dcopcall registration_name "call" from a CGI script. I've no time to work on this right now (thesis time), but maybe this will inspire someone :) (or, maybe it's already being done...) Dave
