Hi,

I was looking at the code of KLocale (in kde 2) and found out that most
of the formatting (for monetary, date, time etc...) is done in the
KLocale member functions, such as KLocale::formatMoney(double num). I
did a bit of research and found out that there already exists such
functionalities with the multi-language support at a "lower level". For
example, there exist functions such as localconv() and strftime() to do
this kind of localization. My questions are:

Why did these POSIX compliant functions where not used inside the
KLocale methods?

Is there something I'm missing? Do the formatting methods of KLocale
behave exactly the same as the lower level functions?

Thanks,

Andre Charbonneau
