I've check in my first version of the laptop battery monitor
daemon into kdeutils/klaptopdaemon - please check it out
and pass me any feedback you have

I'm particularly interested making sure I just don't break builds at
the moment - everything should be OK at top-of-tree.

I have sgml docs ready to be checked in - does anyone have a 
pointer to how I should do this (I notice that kcontrol doesn't do help for
anything yet - should I wait?)
