Hi again.

Well I know that configure is a script and not a subdir, the problem is I tried
AC_CONFIG_SUBDIRS (kbiblio/btparse) as well, and I got the error message:
./configure: kbiblio/btparse: is a directory
./configure: s%@subdirs@%%g: command not found

So with setting AC_CONFIG_SUBDIRS (kbiblio/btparse/configure) I could at least
get the configure script in kbiblio/btparse get started, which seemed like a
temporary success :-)

Many thanks for all your answers,
  Claus

P.S.:
The configure script of btparse is of gnu autoconf. It starts with:
# From configure.in Id: configure.in,v 1.10 1998/03/17 03:45:45 greg Rel greg
# Guess values for system-dependent variables and create Makefiles.
# Generated automatically using autoconf version 2.12
