Is there any reason why ktalk-0.2.7 (KDE talk client) should not
get added to the kdenetwork/ktalkd (KDE talk daemon) distribution for KDE-2?

It's essentially a stable finished nice piece of work (OK, unix talk is a dated
technology..) and it should be there, if ktalkd is.

(I integrated ktalk with ktalkd in the
KDE rpms for redhat 5.x I distributed at ftp.kde.org, but this didnt continue
with the Official RedHat 6.x rpms)

AFAIK, no further work has been done on ktalk or ktalkd for a while.
ktalkd needs a one-line change to make ktalk its default talk client.
Adding ktalk eliminates the need for utmp/wtmp support by konsole for
talk sessions.
